Youth Exchange in İzmir 1-9 December 2007

 
İzmir Çiğli Municipality Hosted Foreign Students

32 students who came to Izmir within the context of “European Union Youth Exchange Project” by the organisation of Avrasya Community visited Çiğli Mayor Ensari Bulut in his competent office. High school and university students aged 18-25 , who are coming from Poland, Bulgaria, Greece and Spain first went to Çiğli and then walked around İzmir Kuş Cenneti. Later on, the youngsters visited the mayor Mr. Bulut in his competent office. The students who also had the opportunity to meet the young people living in Çiğli emphasized the importance of their international cooperation.

Olcay Kart who is talking on behalf of the group said that; with the improvement of relations among countries, the youngsters have the opportunity to get to know about different cultures intimately. He went on saying: “We realized such an organisation in order to destroy unfavorable images and to get to know about cultures closer. We made very good friendships. These projects are very important.”

Çiğli Mayor Ensari Bulut however, mentioned the importance of the project in knowing about the cultures intimately. Mr Bulut highlighted the necessity of supporting such projects in improving the relations between Turkish and foreign youth.
